"she has a way with words" by Chinmayi Balusu

she has a way with words

weaving spells of heirlooms into bliss

New York City sun may be warm

but it presents a thousand illusions

every time I smile

I’m filled with that relentless hope

Even the way I dance every day

is celebrated

misery gives useless yet fulfilling hope

it cuts off circulation as with a rope

pulled to the tightest notch of experience

in your mind

despair painting life in splatters of

mahogany blue

and she’s stuck here, wondering what I’ve

yet to do
